It has now been four months and counting since the July tornado struck our community and slightly went through our own backyard.
The home are still in repair mode, some even getting rebuilt form the ground up. You drive down the streets and still see roofers replacing home roofs and windows; including ours starting next month. Yes I am so beyond excited to finally get this past us.
Trees being brought to the park that were brought down from the tornado. |
Then there is the not so pretty part. Nature. The trees that were half twisted. Trees that were half torn apart yet still standing strong. Now that fall has passed and the leaves have fallen of the tornado stricken trees it is so prominent that a tornado went through our community/street. How do you get pass that night if everywhere you drive and turn you see these trees and destruction that will be there taunting you.
A few days after the tornado struck. Paths were being cleared and new poles getting put up. |
Taunting you why you are not a fan of winter but now look at winter as your comfort blanket on a windy day.
Why? Because after a tornado you think of wind differently. The sound of wind reminds you of the sound of that one day. The sound
of trees in high winds makes your heart speed up. I am no longer a fan of windy days, but I'm sure we will all grow out of it ( my Daughters and I), and right now winter is our comfort blanket since windy days only mean a snowy day.
Until next spring Michigan....
