The Truth About Spring In Michigan

Last night I went to bed being able to look at dirty grass. This morning I woke up to white powdery snow covering the ground. Needles to say I had that disgusted look drawn on my face just like every other Michigander I'm sure this morning.

Therefore I thought I would write some of my own tips for us Michiganders for spring. Don't forget this is brought to you by a born a raised Michigander. Oh and later I will tease you with some late summer pictures. To give you an idea of what it could feel like right now. Rude right? So is spring time in Michigan.

The Truth About Spring In Michigan

  1. Let me just start off saying spring is over rated. Almost every year we skip spring and move right into summer. Our bodies don't get much time to get use to the change at all.
  2. Spring is not always this beautiful picture. Once the ugly snow melts, we have mud and what we think is grass.
  3. Our perennials are not sure whether they should peak out of the ground or not. Most of the times do anyways. Our farmers crop's are sometimes ruined by frost. Therefore summer is when it's more accurate for the pretty pictures.
  4. Michigan may get a 50 degree sunny day but don't be fooled, tomorrow it will be in the 20's with snow falling.
  5. Although it may only be 50 degrees we are still are excited. You might even catch someone wearing shorts.
  6. All in all at least the sun starts to come back out in Michigan.

This is what I feel like right now in ND! At least the days are longer and the sun is out more but it feels like we basically go from winter to summer - not much of an in between! Those purple flowers are beautiful though!

You're too cute, this made me laugh.

& do you completely hate me because I'm in Los Angeles?
50 degrees in shorts...I gasped. I'm such a wuss!!!
Also..I agree that spring is over rated. Besides, my eyes puff up because I'm so Paul Pfeiffer.
(Geez..I really am a wuss) ;)

That last photo is absolutely gorgeous though, I sure would love to be around beautiful surroundings like that.
