Sham on me. I'm am setting a bad example for my daughters as I make my beauties breakfast every single morning then rush to quickly get myself ready with a cup of coffee in my hand. How many of you skip breakfast in the mornings? I often think since I had my cup of coffee with my dairy free and gluten free creamer I am okay. Wrong!
Later I am paying for it. I start to feel sluggish, tired and of course hungry. This is not an every morning routine. I don't always forget. But more than half. Sometimes I run out the door with a banana. Better than forgetting right? But I still am hungry an half hour later.
Therefore I wanted to keep on the right track. The healthy morning breakfast track. I am all about trying to eat natural clean foods. One,
I noticed since last summer it helps my migraines immensely. Two, it makes me feel so much better in general. Three, I want to see if it helps my journey in healing my anxiety. Overall we should all start eating natural clean foods. Although it may be easier said than done.
My first start to making a routine of eating breakfast was this morning. I made myself actually sit down and enjoy some homemade oatmeal. Who knew it was almost just as easy to make compared to the boxed packets. Wait for it...the best part is that it taste even better than the pre made packets.
Homemade Oatmeal
Prep: Easy
Prepare Time: 1-2 minutes
Cook Time: 5-8 minutes
- Heat your water on the stove. Or as your package/box of organic/natural/raw oats instruct you to.
- Once your water is hot, measure your oats and water as your package instructs or as however you like yours. I never follow instructions.
- Next is my favorite part and the best part of homemade oatmeal. You can add any ingredient your taste buds enjoy to make it tasteful. Example, we add a sprinkle of brown sugar as one of our favorites. Fruit is always a great choice as well. Cinnamon and sugar is another great choice.
So start with me and take the first step by starting that healthy breakfast routine daily. Let me know how it works for you. if you already eat already have a healthy routine how does your work for you? Share with us in a comment below.
