Easy Apple Chips ( Recipe)

Cinnamon Apple Chips Recipe
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 1-2 hours

Ingredients
  • 2 Apples
  • 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powder sugar. Also known as confectioner sugar.
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 225 F.
  2. Create the cinnamon mixture.
  3. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Slice apples using a mandoline. If you do not have one you may use a serrated knife. (You don't want the slices to be too thin though because you may have a hard time removing from the baking sheet or parchment paper.)
  5. Here you have two options.  (1)You may place each apple slice into the cinnamon mixture on both sides then place onto the parchment paper onto the baking sheet. OR (2) Place the apple slices on to the parchment paper into the baking sheet and sprinkle the cinnamon mixture onto one side of the apple slices then flip and repeat.
  6. Please the baking sheet into the oven.
  7. Flip the apple slices every 30 minutes until dried.
  8. Once finished cooking let cool and place into an air tight container or enjoy!
Tip: The thicker the slice the chewier the apple chip will be. The thinner the slice the more crunch your apple chip will have.

This is a great snack to pack into your child's school lunch, prepare for an after school snack, or even for a Friday family night.

It is also a great way to get your children involved in the kitchen. If you have children like mine they love helping me in the kitchen. Although there are some steps in this recipe they may not be able to help with, my daughters were still able to help out with half of preparing the apple chips.

Do you allow your children to get involved in the kitchen?
