Recently it has been brought to my attention that my blog is full of grammatical errors. I will not go into details. So here is why my blog is not perfect.
- I am not perfect therefore neither is my blog. My blog is raw.
- I am not a famous blogger, or have thousands of followers. Maybe someday.
- My blog started out as a hobby once I became a stay at home mom. With that being said, I do not always make money at blogging. Therefore, I do not pay for an editor. I proof read my own post quickly most of the time with two toddlers running in the background.

My blog has errors in too, at least one per post. I figure if someone is that picky then they don't have to read my blog. I know when I talk I have grammitcal errors too; and I try to write like I talk; so it makes sense that my writing would have a few too.
Some people just have to find something to complain about :)
I agree with you Angela. Thanks your your input! :)
Hey! I just got your comment on my blog. Like Angela said, some people are always going to find something to complain about. In my situation--I studied 4 languages in college, and spent a great deal of time learning about linguistics and grammar and the reasoning behind why different languages work the way they do. I know English grammar well. I've actually had people email me to tell me I used the wrong verb tense in a post--and I had to respond that, actually, given the context of the sentence, I was using the subjunctive mood of the verb. And I felt like such a nerd correcting a correction of my grammar....
But, besides that--I'm a big believer in not 'majoring on the minors.' I don't always use perfect grammar on my blog because I write the way I speak, not the way a textbook is written. I enjoy a lot of blogs that have grammatical errors (umm, doesn't everybody's?) I feel that some people like to point out grammatical errors because it makes them feel clever, but to me, that's completely unnecessary and that's NOT something I would ever do, unless asked to edit an article. I'm not going to point out grammatical errors because I do believe that in the grand scheme of life and eternity and things that really DO matter...grammar has little value. Yes, it's convenient, it's good to know the rules, and when you're submitting an article for publication somewhere, you want it to be correct, but I detest grammar snobs who act like anyone who doesn't punctuate everything with precision doesn't deserve to be listened to. Some of the best and most cherished people I've met in my life don't even know how to read--but I can listen to them tell me their life stories without stopping them every few minutes to tell them that they've used a word wrong.
Thank you so much for your response Rachel! English has always been my best subject whether it shows on my blog or not. I received good grades in high school and college in my english and writing classes. Thank you so much for your input!
