Since I haven't updated in a while about Helens esotropia in her right eye, I figured I'd let family and friends stay informed.
The routine stays the same. She has to wear her glasses every day all day with her patch 2 hours per day. Sometimes you may see her without her glasses on, that's because it can be a daily fight. Or if we go somewhere it's better to leave them at home since she has a habit of taking them on and off and setting them down somewhere.EXAMPLE: At target she took them off and set them under the cart.Baby glasses are not cheap, therefore we pray we do not lose them. That is where we stand with our daily progress.
With her pediatric eye Doctor check ups, we still go every 2 months to check on both of her eyes for improvement. At every check up there has been a little bit of improvement. Although we are happy with any improvement with the esotropia, their just hasn't been enough to satisfy her eye Doctor. It is hard to explain the progress with positives and negatives. The muscles and movement of her right eye is improving but not int he placement where it needs to be. With that being said, we were told to be prepared that her next check up in September will most likely be a consultation for her to have eye surgery. This is the last resort and of course what we did not want. We were hoping and praying that the glasses and eye patch would correct her esotropia. All prayers are appreciated!
So if you see Helena and you wear glasses and have them on, we would love if you comment about how lovely her glasses are and how she is wearing glasses like you! I call them her "pretties"
