By the time I had my third daughter I felt like my brain has disappeared. Literally like aliens came and stole it in my sleep. Of course I'm joking about the aliens! For example, back in March I had called my daughters pediatricians office to set up her yearly check up. While setting up the appointment, the scheduler asked for my child's name. No problem I gave it to her instantly. Next she asked for my daughters birth date. I start answering with March fourteen...um. As I'm thinking to myself am I seriously drawing a blank what year my daughter was born?! As there was a pause on the phone I finally answered with 2010. Wow I just gave her the wrong year that my daughter was born. I then quickly reply with the correct year. By this point I felt beyond stupid and could imagine what the lady on the other side of the phone was thinking. I proceeded to tell her that I had three daughters and it's sometimes hard to get their birthdays strait. I'm sure that didn't help either. At least she laughed after and said I totally agree with you. Ah, a sigh of relief. She doesn't think I'm a nut case after all. I couldn't help but laugh at myself once I hung up the phone.
I have had many more of these moments than I like to admit. But lets admit it, parenting can be crazy and hectic at times. It would only make sense to have a scatter brain once in a while.
What was something you forgot as a parent??
