A Passion For Ice Skating

This past Wednesday I was able to take our oldest daughter to her ice skating lessons. My husband usually is the one who takes her. She started ice skating almost a year ago now. She would toss the idea around that she wanted to figure skate; at the time we thought she was too young. When she turned five she was still stuck with the idea, so we went along with it. We signed her up with group lessons, thinking that she wouldn't like it after all. Take in consideration she was never ever in ice skates on ice before. We honestly thought she would end up not liking it because it would be too difficult. Well we were far from wrong. She has grown such a strong passion for the sport, we had to force her to take a break in the summer. I'm so proud of her though to do something that she loves at such a young age. There are times where I get nervous and question her if she wants to stop, because we don't want her to feel like we are forcing her. After all she came to us and asked, and we went along with it. She keeps reassuring us she loves it and doesn't want to stop.
Yes, she has real figure skating skates!
Wednesday I was able to see her work on her little spins and skating in circles. I have to admit shes better than me now. She is almost to the point where she can join the figure skating club. Eeeek. I can't imagine how far she could go with her passion for ice skating at such a young age, if she chooses to continue. If she chooses to end it eventually, i'll support her 100 percent too! Here are some pictures of her ice skating!

That is amazing! The last 2 times my daughter tried ice skating, she ended up with stitches!

My 5 and 3-year old girls are interested in learning ballet and ice skating. I am thinking of signing them up in training while they are young (and courageous, unlike their mom). I know they will be okay, I just hope I don't faint while I watch them. :)

This is a lovely blog. Found you in Bloggy Moms. :)

How cute! Good for her finding such a passion at an early age. We live in California and at the age of 30 I have yet to put on a pair of ice skates! I hear we will be getting a temporary ice for the holidays brought in, which I intend to try out!
