Easter Weekend Recap - photos

All is quiet in our home. I can hear the branches of the blooming trees starting to slightly sway from the winds picking up lightly as the clouds are rolling in. I'm probably making a poor choice of sipping on some very tasty hot coffee (must I add) at this time of night. Although coffee helps me dig into my writing. What tends to help you relax and write? I'll be totally honest...I can drink coffee at all times of the day and have no affects on me falling asleep at night. Or at least yet!

Any who. This weekend was special. We were able to spend it with my parents. We haven't spent Easter with my parents it felt like in forever. We did our typical Easter weekend traditions and remember the true meaning.

  1. We colored Easter eggs. Every year we try to do a different theme. This year it was chalk paint. Let me be completely honest. Epic fail! Then again when do projects ever turn out like the pictures?! It was okay once the chalk covered the egg in the end and the three girls were happy again. Then of course a happy Mama who didn't ruin the egg coloring this year! Phew! Close call! Note to self. Never do chalk egg coloring in the future. Check!
  2. I dolled the girls up in the Sunday Easter Dresses. Spent about ( yeah lets not go there ) on there hair. Lastly ended with some photos before they ruined it after Sunday church.
  3. The Easter egg hunt. Yay. Nothing like preparing the plastic eggs in bed at the last minute....the night before. Then literally passing out in bed. If you follow me VIA Instagram you may have seen my bed during Valentine's day. Yup I was guilty as charged again last night of Easter goodies. The Easter egg hunt was a hoot. One Daughter got tangled in a vine. How? Well again if you follow me VIA Instagram you know right now I call my backyard the hillbilly backyard. Why? Because July 2014 we had a tornado strike our city and it actually went through my neighborhood...and through my backyard. Not cool! In the end the girls loved the Easter egg hunt.
  4. I served an Easter Sunday dinner. I really enjoy having our own home and being able to have family over to host. Hosting dinners and parties is very important to me and being around family, laughing, joking and just having a grand time.
  5. Lastly it ended with a family walk and naps. The weather here in Michigan was just nice enough to get outside a little bit of a family walk to the park play for a bit and come home for that Easter Sunday nap. Mommy and Daddy even took a short one.

Did I mention yet how I enjoy the home when all is quiet? I'm sure some day I will dislike it and wish upon those high pitched voices when their all grown. But for now I enjoy my couple of hours of peace before I hit the hay at night.

How did your family spend Easter? Also do you have that one child of all your children that want to be in all the photos? That explains my not so camera shy child. Oh and did I forget to mention that spring break started Friday and this Mama is one happy Mama?!
