One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday with my Husband is to go thrift shopping . I love the challenge of finding a good deal. I love to thrift for some of our home decor that is rustic looking, shabby chic or vintage to go with my homes over haul that I have been slowly working on.
In the above picture I is my newest rustic basket I found at a local thrift store. I added it into our living room. Right now it is being used as storage for our blankets. I hauled them out of our hallway closet where they were once located. Away from the living room and a pain when have to always go get a blanket to warm up. Instead I now store them in an easier place for all of us to get them now, the whicker basket.
5 Home Decor Tips
1. Buy something that can have a universal use.
2. Create your storage as an art piece if it is visible to guests.
3. Try to stick to DIY projects to save money.
4. Head to the thrift shops.
5. Stick to your color scheme.

I love this idea. I will look for a nice wicker basket the next time I am out. I have books and magazines that need a storage place too. I keep them scattered on small tables. My space is small and I don't have book shelves (no room for them).
This is a wonderful share! I love DIY projects, just not much time for that anymore with blogging and my job. Summer was great for some catch up but now back to work to teach. Baskets are great for storage!

What a great look you're building and I love thrift shopping too. Looking forward to watching it all come together piece by piece.
This is super cute! My hubby and I love thrift and antique shopping on the weekends. They're the best!
I have a bit of a basket addiction, actually. I reign it in most of the time, but if I see a great basket at a thrift store, there's no way I'm not buying it! Great find, by the way :)
Love thrifting!
I love shopping for decor at thrift stores or goodwill!
