Even though our Michigan summer was more on the cooler side we still were able to enjoy it. We didn't have too many humid days that were unbearable. In fact I think we hit 90 degrees once if I am correct? I am not complaining...trust me. It is nice being able to be outside and actually able to enjoy the summer. Speaking of summer...here is what our summer break consisted of in a blink of an eye.
We were able to make it out to the beach to visit the famous Lake Michigan. Living in Michigan and not far from the lake, it is a must every summer. This year was an experience with a storm coming off the lake with very high winds. Scared the girls a tad bit. Read more here.
We kicked off the girls summer break with a fun End Of School Year Party with a few friends from class. It was a great time and a perfect start to summer for the kids. Maybe...just possible a tradition in the making? We shall see. Read more here.
The girls attended Vacation Bible Camp at the church I grew up in. They enjoyed the time and the church. They meet some amazing people while they attended. As a Mother it was wonderful being able to listen the their stories after picking them up. It was a little tough for Little Viv at first, but she warmed up. I bet they can't wait to attend next summer. Did your child attend a VBS?
Helen received her new pair of glasses...well not intentionally. Somehow we lost them in her bedroom. Therefore we had to order a new pair. Of course weeks later she finds them while playing. Of course after weeks and weeks of my Husband and I tearing the house apart and upside down. But isn't that how it always works?! Now we have a back up pair.
We did a lot of playing at home. barbies on a blanket in the yard was a favorite this summer. Along with playing in the pool and sprinklers. Pretty much we were outside most of the summer, after all us Michiganders are cooped up inside all winter.
Something exciting happened over the summer for our blog. I did a couple TV segment with the girls. We had so much fun and a great experience. I also learned I love being on TV...ha ha!
A little girl turned 3! I can't believe it. I braved it this year and made her very own cake. She requested a blue cake since blue is her favorite color. Thank you because pink and purple is growing old on this Mama.
Oh and I went from blonde hair to brownish hair. I feel so much fresher and natural. Oh and I chopped it. Not too short though. Just a longer angled bob.
We enjoyed our typical library trips, Starbucks and playdates at the park. Who doesn't love the park these days when there is a splahpad now?!
We visited the county fair and even had our family pictures done there. I can't wait to brag and share them on here soon. So stay tuned.lastly, of course we ended our summer up at the Cabin visiting with family. What did you and your family do this summer? Did you do something extra special or go somewhere? I think next year I would love to take the girl on a vacation. We try to go somewhere every other year.
