Yesterday was Ev's follow with her pediatrician since her ER visit. If you missed the post regarding the ER visit click here to catch up.
I am happy to announce she does not have to go see a GI specialist. Phew! That was a weight lifted off of our shoulders. So if she does not have to see a GI specialist then what is the answer?
When we made the trip to the ER and ran the tests, one of the many tests was an xray. I was informed at her follow up appointment yesterday that in the xray had shown she had a larger bowl. In result causing her to become very backed up. Sorry this may be TMI for blogging? But this has to do with all of what is going on to make sense of it all. Why did the ER doctor not tell us the xray results? I have no clue! It honestly frustrates me as a parent. Something could have been resolved at that point and time. Yet we were left with no specific answers besides the possibility of a food allergy and that our daughter needed to see a GI specialist.
So where we stand today after her follow up. She has to stay off diary which seem to be clearing up the symptoms we have been dealing with for over a year now. Although I guess an dairy allergy does not typically cause constipation. The dairy allergy is not yet confirmed although we strict orders to keep Ev off of dairy because it seems to be the solution thus far. Also of course find more ways to up the fiber into her daily diet along with making sure she's getting an efficient amount of vitamin D.
Not only does it feel a weight off our shoulders and a mystery solved for us as parents, but for Ev as well.
Stay tuned for our little extravaganza at the gas station trying to find a dairy free snack!

Oh- I guess I commented on the wrong post for this! Any way... I am doubly glad your daughter's ailment wasn't something more serious! Going DF is a little tricky at first, but you'll get the hang of it!
Thank you so much!
Kaitlyn
